19-21 Faulkner Street
In 2002, VietAID constructed a
three-story building on Faulkner Street consisting of six comfortable
apartments. The project aimed to establish a lively Vietnamese community and
enhance the Fields Corner area of Dorchester. The building's clapboard design
is in harmony with the neighborhood's architectural style, and the
well-landscaped surroundings enhance the streetscape.
The
structure adheres to the principles of transit-oriented development, providing
easy access to all amenities, including proximity to the Fields Corner Subway
station. VietAID also played a role in establishing a community garden on a
vacant lot at the corner of Faulkner and Freeman Streets, promoting cultural
diversity.
